About
Luke Ferrell
Director · Educator · Producer
Luke Ferrell is a New Jersey–based theater practitioner and educator whose work spans the stage, the classroom, and the studio. As a director, he brings a collaborative, truth-seeking approach to productions ranging from high school mainstages to award-winning studio theatre.
As his instructional and students support roles at Rutgers University, he supports over 1,600 undergraduate students annually through high-impact peer mentorship and student success programs. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Ferrell Studios, a Central New Jersey nonprofit performing arts organization, he has built an accessible arts community serving over 400 local artists, 1,000 students, and more than 15 teaching artists annually.
A Rutgers University Summa Cum Laude graduate, Luke's work is united by a single conviction: that the arts are not a luxury, but a tool for developing empathy, agency, and voice.

Teaching Philosophy
"I believe students learn most effectively when they have control over their own learning and when the environment functions as a collaborative space for inquiry, reflection, and constructing meaning. My role as an educator is to facilitate experiences that invite students to build knowledge through personal experience and creative problem-solving."
